Control landscape lighting glare for tree lighting is a simple do-it-yourself project for most homeowners.
Considering the convenience of underground wiring and the unsightliness of wires on trees, most tree lights are now installed on the ground and up-lighting. This has become one of the main causes of landscape lighting glare and one of the main sources of light pollution.
Landscape lighting should be adjusted to as low a level as possible,
See below table.
Glare control requirements:
Hide the lighting fixtures in the grass or install them behind trees, so you can see the light but not the lamps.
If you want to install tree lights on the roadside without any obstruction, be sure to point the lighting angle away from the road surface, and do not install the lamp on either side of the tree parallel to the road surface.
Choose the appropriate tree lights beam angle according to the tree species and tree shape.
If the tree is wide, you can try to replace the large beam angle tree lights with multiple small beam angle tree lights to minimize large area and high-brightness lighting in eye view.
The tree lights can be installed on the tree to illuminate the tree above or below.
Fix it with a retractable device to avoid affecting the growth of the tree. Fix it on the branch to illuminate the tree crown.
Use the nearby trees as a glare shield to illuminate the second and third rows of trees
Erect a high pole and install lamps at multiple heights, directions and angles on the pole to illuminate the road surface, the tree tops, or the tree canopy
